Lake Advisory 10/4/19

Two things I need to let you all know about…
1st – Your participation in our Women On Mission “Red Box” Project was such a success, I was asked by the leaders to thank you all for helping this Project collect 300 bars of soap. 300!! These bars of soap will be added to other collected items for the women serving time in our NC Women’s Prisons, and will be distributed to these ladies before Christmas. Thank you again for going above and beyond in your acts of generosity.

2nd – This weekend is the Autumn Jubilee at Dan Nicholas Park. If you are not familiar with this event, the main thing you need to know is that traffic will be extremely heavy on Bringle Ferry Rd. both Saturday and Sunday. You may need to allow a little extra time to make it to church on time this Sunday, or consider an alternate route; Stokes Ferry Rd. to Agner to Bringle Ferry Rd. I just wanted to send out this simple reminder so you don’t find yourself stuck behind a line of vehicles trying to enter Dan Nicholas.

Of course, if you get a chance to visit the Autumn Jubilee this year, be safe and enjoy all the food and vendors and crafts. You may see quite a few people you know there.

And, in case you weren’t aware. We have new Lake “ALL IN” t-shirts and window stickers available in our Lobby, and they are FREE. If you were at our 5 year Celebration, you saw them there fore the first time and some are still available. If your size if out of stock, give us your name and size and we will get that in for you as soon as possible.

There are quite a few events coming to The Lake over the next several weeks, and all that information is listed below. If you come across something you need to place on your calendar, I’d go ahead and do that before the calendar gets too filled.

Upcoming events at The Lake:

“Who Can be Against Us”
We begin a new teaching series this Sunday at our 9:30 and 11:00am Worship Gatherings. Now that we have finished up our month-long “ALL IN” Challenge through September, it’s time to gain some confidence as we do our best to continue the momentum created with regular Bible Reading, Prayer, Trusting God, Worship, and Church Attendance and carry that on into October with, “Who Can Be Against Us.” This entire new series will be focused on one chapter of Romans; Chapter 8. So, you will want to bring your Bibles each week, already marked and prepared to discover all the Apostle Paul has to share believers because they have chosen to be followers of Jesus.

LAKE STUDENTS
Every Wednesday evening at The Lake, our Lake Students gather for some fun and Bible Study. This coming Wednesday evening, Eric has a special treat planned for our Lake Students; Middle School and High School. Invite your friends! And, don’t forget about the $100 discount for registering early for M-Fuge 2020! Time is running out. Find out more about Lake Students on their website: thelakestudents.com and/or contact Eric Doane.

LAKE KIDS
Our pre-school children will begin a new lesson study for October entitled, “A Roaring Rescue.” In week 1, they will be learning about Daniel in the lions’ den and how they can say goodbye to fear…because God helps me. Their Bible verse comes from Isaiah 41:13(NIV) “…the Lord your God says to you, I will help you.” Our K-5 Lake Kids are also beginning a new Bible lesson; “You Scared?” This Sunday will be all about how to Stop Worrying. Their Bible verse comes from 1 Peter 5:7(NLT) “Give all your worries and cares to God for he cares about you.” (Parents, you can follow along with your child’s lessons on the Bible App for Kids.)

There are so many ways you can become “Difference Makers” at The Lake; so many opportunities. Lake Kids; Lake Students; Guest Services; Worship; Production; Facilities. All of these Ministries are continually welcoming new Team members each week. If you would like to become a “Difference Maker”, I encourage you to contact the church office (980-643-4200), go through our website (thelake.church), or use our new Church Center App to join a Team and begin making a difference in the lives of others.
