This is the Sunday! Yes… “this Sunday!” If you have your Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes filled with gifts to be sent to children around the world, this Sunday is your day to bring them to The Lake. Just add your Shoeboxes to the collection stack in the Lobby when you arrive. I am so excited to see this stack of Shoeboxes grow throughout the morning as you bring your’s back “this Sunday.”
If, for some reason, you are unable to be at The Lake this Sunday morning; you can still bring your filled Shoeboxes that evening to our “Thanksgiving & Praise” service at 6:00pm. You see, of all Sundays, “this Sunday” makes it possible for you to be able to attend The Lake for worship three times in one day; 9:30am, 11:00am, and 6:00pm.
And, since I briefly mentioned this earlier, I’ll simply remind you that “this Sunday” evening is our special Thanksgiving service. The Lake’s “Thanksgiving & Praise” service will begin at 6:00pm. Come early for a good seat and be a part of an evening filled with music, worship, Baptisms, the Lord’s Supper, and prayers of Thanksgiving. We will be offering childcare for all children Pre-K and under. Invite your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. This is going to be an amazing evening at The Lake.
Upcoming events at The Lake:
Again, “this Sunday” is the Sunday before Thanksgiving, and what better way for believers to prepare for Thanksgiving with their family and close friends than to understand the importance of living a “thankful” life; a life blessed by God’s grace and mercy; a life given to us so we can share God’s love with others; a life filled with thanksgiving for God. Join us “this Sunday” at 9:30 or 11:00am to learn how to live our life as a “thank you gift to God.”
There will be no Lake Students gathering this coming Wednesday at The Lake. But, be paying close attention to the Lake Students website: thelakestudents.com and/or contact Eric Doane for what’s next.
Our pre-school children continue their lesson study this Sunday entitled, “A Voice In The Night.” In week 3, they will learn more about how Samuel is called by God and how…I can talk with God…all the time. Their Bible memory verse will be from Psalm 55:17(NLT) “Morning, noon, and night–the Lord hears my voice.” Our K-5 Lake Kids are in week 4 of their Sunday study, “Spiritual Disciplines”. This week, they will learn about How To Pray To God. Their Bible verse this Sunday matches up with our pre-school’s verse. Psalm 55:17(NLT) Morning, noon, and night...the Lord hears my voice.” (Parents, you can follow along with your child’s lessons on the Bible App for Kids.)
There are so many ways you can become “Difference Makers” at The Lake; so many opportunities. Lake Kids; Lake Students; Guest Services; Worship; Production; Facilities. All of these Ministries are continually welcoming new Team members each week. Again, I want to share about an incredible opportunity in our Lake Kids Ministry. We are seeing more and more children each week and with more children comes more opportunities for you to become a “Difference Maker” in the life of a child; whether you can serve twice a month, or if you’re limited to being available only once a month, our Lake Kids can use your servant heart for children. I encourage you to speak with Amanda Stone (Lake Kids Director), contact the church office (980-643-4200), go through our website (thelake.church), or use our new Church Center App to join a Team and begin making a difference in the lives of others. We are just “4 Difference Makers” away from being able to have three rotating Ministry Teams instead of two.
