Lake Advisory 12/24/2020

I know, I know. Surprise! This Lake Advisory is being sent to you on a Thursday, instead of a Friday. Two reasons for this…

1 – Tomorrow is Christmas Day and I don’t need to be interrupting your time with family and friends on Christmas with an email for you to read. This is a day to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior; the reason for our Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. May God bless you and your family in an incredible way this Christmas, and may you be given opportunities to share the Hope, Peace, Joy and Love that lives inside you, because of Jesus, in a way that will be evident to everyone you meet this Christmas and throughout next year.

2 – I just couldn’t wait until Friday to send out this Advisory. Hey, just being honest. I want to make sure to let everyone know, as soon as possible, and as a reminder, that this Sunday’s Worship Gathering will be an ONLINE Gathering only. We will not be opening the doors of The Lake this Sunday for In-Person Worship Gatherings. So, if you are traveling to be with family this Christmas, or if you have family traveling in to be with you this Christmas, then you will not have to decide to shorten your visit, or choose between being at church or being with family. The craziness of 2020 has made it difficult to do a lot of things with our families and friends, but I know you have been making all the preparations you can to ensure that you and your family will be safe when you are together, and I pray you are able to enjoy every moment of your time together this Christmas.

So, this Sunday, we are offering you the opportunity to be with your family AND join us on Sunday morning for worship. Our last Worship Gathering for 2020 will be a LiveStream Event Online at 10:00am. There will also be an encore broadcast Online at 6:00pm Sunday evening. We so look forward to having you join us Online this Sunday as we complete our teaching series; “The Best Christmas Ever.” And, my prayer; the prayer of our entire Staff, is that this Christmas will be “The Best Christmas Ever” for everyone.

Upcoming events at The Lake:

“The Best Christmas Ever”
Through the first three weeks of “The Best Christmas Ever,” we have learned the amazing gifts God has given us through the birth of His Son, Jesus; an eternal “Hope” to guide us through the darkest darkness; an unexplainable “Peace” to comfort us in all the chaos; an inexpressible “Joy” living inside us, and this Sunday we learn about the unconditional “Love” we have been given through Jesus. All these gifts are to be given away in how we choose to live the life God has given us to live. Please join us this Sunday, “Online Only,” at 10:00am at Lake Live Online for the final installment of “The Best Christmas Ever.”

There is a change coming to our Lake Kids Ministry with the new year. Starting the first Sunday in January, we will be offering a fully staffed Lake Kids at the 11:00am Worship Gathering only. If you could help us staff for enough teachers and volunteers for a 9:30 Lake Kids, please contact Amanda Stone at soon as you can. Her email is, or

2020 is coming to a close, and as a Staff, we are already preparing for 2021. On Sunday evening, January 3rd, we will be presenting to Lake Community Church a proposed 2021 Budget for your approval. Our Lake Leadership has discussed and approved the Proposed Budget at their last meeting and you will be receiving an email with information about the proposed 2021 Budget after Christmas. I do hope you can make plans to be a part of our January 3rd meeting help us prepare for 2021.
