It’s Valentines Day 20202!! Hopefully, that brief announcement didn’t send anyone into a panic; realizing they may need to leave work a little earlier today to stop by the store and pick through what’s left of Valentines Cards and candy before heading home. It happens.
But, if you planned ahead, and already have dinner reservations, and the roses, and the tri-fold card signed and sealed, then…may I interest you in some events coming this Sunday and next week at The Lake?
Winter Semester of Connection Groups is in full swing…and it is still not too late to join a Group. Each week, these Groups revisit the previous Sunday’s message topic and carry it a little further; making it a little more personal; asking extra questions to create conversations and discussions which tend to challenge and encourage us at the same time; developing us into the follower of Jesus we have been called to be. You can submit a request online to join a Connection Group for this semester at mylake.church. Under the Next Steps tab, choose a Group to join. Your request will go to the leader of that Group.
Here again is our current list of Winter Semester Connection Groups being offered at The Lake:

Upcoming events at The Lake:
“Who’s Your One?
Who is that one person God has placed in your mind, or on your heart, and it seems as though you are always thinking about them. Like, “I wish they had been at church this past Sunday. I wonder where they go to church; or, if they would join me at The Lake this Sunday?” Did you know, statistically, a person is more likely to join you on a Sunday morning at church if you ask them to, than if you never ask? Really. And, even more people would listen to your story of how Jesus changed your life than you think would listen. This Sunday at 9:30 and 11:00am, we discuss the power associated with our story; our experience with the Gospel, and how we can reach that “One” this year. Your “One” may like to hear this themselves. Hint. Hint.
This coming Wednesday evening, 6:30-8:00pm, our Lake Students will continue their current study; “Follow Me?” This study will discuss individuals in the Bible who had an opportunity to follow Jesus but didn’t, and the reason(s) why they chose not to offer their lives to Christ. All middle school and high school students are invited to Lake Students! To learn more about Lake Students, visit their website: thelakestudents.com and/or contact Eric Doane for what’s next.
Our pre-school children will continue their Bible study, “Through The Roof;” all abut how Jesus Heals a Paralyzed Man. This week’s lesson is, “I’m a good friend when…I share.” Their Bible memory verse is from Romans 12:13(NIRV) “Share with God’s people who are in need…” Our K-5 Lake Kids study for this Sunday is, “Peer Relationships” Week 2’s focus is on “How To Make Friends.” Their Bible Memory Verse is from; Proverbs 12:26(NLT) “The godly give good advice to their friends; the wicked lead them astray.” (Parents, be sure to use the Bible App for Kids to follow along with your child’s lessons.)
