Not yet. At least, that’s the latest decision as to when we can begin to make plans to start to recover from the restrictions and mandates connected to the coronavirus. But, until we get the “Go ahead”, we will continue to do all we can to not let the light of Lake Community Church dim in any way. There is too much at stake. There are still people who need to hear about God’s love and how He demonstrated the extent of His love for us through His Son’s death and resurrection. There are still people who need to experience God’s love through His children living out this love in their everyday life; wherever they may be; in whatever circumstance may arise. There are still people who need to see that God’s love is for real in the way we speak to them, treat them, and show compassion to them.
There are still believers who need to become bolder in their faith and belief to the extent of sharing the Good News with those they know who don’t know. There are still believers who need to move from the comfort zone of “normal” and step fully into the call God has placed on their life. There are still opportunities for the Gospel to be shared and lives to be changed forever.
Now, do we have a better, or different perspective on what “Not yet” means for us; believers; children of God. It’s not time to begin to go back to where we were, to what we were doing, to what we were planning to do, until we allow this time of struggle; this time of distancing from things that have possibly distracted us from what we were supposed to be doing…you know, the “call” on our life as followers of Jesus. It’s not time yet, until we allow this time, this season, to change us and strengthen our relationship with the Lord. Understand? This “time”; this “season” we are in can be a “time” to unify and unite the church; spread the Gospel; share God’s love…
If we allow it…
May we be able to look back later this year and acknowledge that we used this “time” wisely.

Upcoming events at The Lake:
We continue our new teaching series, “Not Afraid” this Sunday at 10:00am Live Online. Last week we discover that we are called to live by faith, not fear; to think of others more than ourselves, and that we are to be a light in this dark world; even in the midst of the uncertainty and fear created by Covid-19. But, how do we do that? I mean, there is so much about this virus that is unknown, but one thing we do know…it’s very contagious. This Sunday I want to share with you something else that should be contagious, but maybe it isn’t quite as contagious as it should be. Hmmm? Gotcha scratching your head? Join us this Sunday at 10:00am for week 2 of “Not Afraid” as we gather together “Online“, and be sure to Share our gathering on your own social media page; inviting your family and friends to join in with our time of worship.
