Lake Advisory 4/3/2020

I know this is probably beginning to read like a “same-ol’-same-ol” information piece, but things really haven’t changed much at The Lake. We are still planning to worship together Online this Sunday at 10:00am. We are still finding better ways to stay connected through Online Connection Group meetings. We are still making plans for an amazing Easter @ The Lake next Sunday. So, even though we can’t come together as a united body of believers under one roof we can still stay connected and be united in our worship, our prayers for God to heal our country and continue to protect us, and our checking in on one another to see how everyone is doing.

I notice that when I get a chance to re-visit our LiveStream Worship Gathering. Did you know you could do? It stays on our Facebook page. The entire Worship Gathering; music and message to listen to over and over; especially if you happened to miss us Sunday. And, you can re-visit the message content from our website; Simply click on Sermons and pick the one you missed, or one you really enjoyed and were encouraged by. Any day. Any time.

Getting back to what I was starting to say; I enjoy re-visiting our LiveStream to read your comments. I don’t get to see them while I’m speaking, but I do get to go through the entire list of comments and I can still reply to people; kind of like how many of you welcome one another and reply to one another. It’s so encouraging to know we are still being the “church”; even when we can’t gather together in one place.

I also wanted to share with you about an Outreach Project your generosity has made possible through your faithfulness in giving online at, through the mail, and even stopping by The Lake during the week to give your tithe. Monday, between 11:00am and 1:00pm, Lake Community Church will be providing groceries to 70 students, and their families from Morgan Elementary School, to help them during Spring Break. Since the schools are closed over Spring Break, that means no buses delivering meals that week. A lot of families had already planned to be home that week before the virus, but there are still some families in need of meals for their children during the week. We have contacted Morgan Elementary School’s Principal, Mr. DiStefano, to let them know we wanted to help in some way, and your generosity through God’s blessings in your life have helped to make this possible. (I’ll share pictures later) But, thank you all for helping to make this possible!!

Upcoming events at The Lake:

“Against All Odds”
This Sunday, at 10:00am, we meet again “Online” for week 3 of our current teaching series, “Against All Odds.” And again, I don’t like asking folks to “stay at home” instead of coming to church, but to do all we can to help “flatten the curve”, I’m asking you to join us this Sunday from the comfort of your home; maybe not in pajamas :-); but to gather with your family as we look at another prophecy about Jesus’ ministry here on earth; Palm Sunday; recorded in the Gospels as Jesus’ celebrated arrival into Jerusalem; the start of Holy Week leading up to Passover and His crucifixion. What all did Jesus experience in the days before and after His arriving in Jerusalem? We find those answers this Sunday at 10:00am. Use the link on our Homepage; Lake Church Facebook LiveStream.
