There’s been a lot going on this week around the world, across our country, and in our state. We have gone through two months of mandates, shut-downs, restrictions and recommendations from the Government, the CDC, and our friends and family. Have we seen any good in all of this? I believe we have.
Families are spending more time together. Friends are checking on others more frequently. People are helping people in need. Heroes in the medical field are being applauded. States are beginning the process of opening back up; getting back to some sense of recovery. The church is still alive and well. I know some people may not believe that part since they can’t get together in one place and worship together as the body of Christ; as the church is supposed to do, but I’ve seen otherwise.
I’ve read articles, and listened to podcasts, and participated in webinars with pastors from all over the country…and church attendance; even though online, has increased. People are seeking answers and looking for hope in this difficult season, and all they need is an invite from a friend who knows where they can find those answers. Best of all…lives are being changed. Thousands and thousands of people are accepting the Good news of the Gospel and giving their lives to Jesus. Yes; there’s some good happening in the midst of the uncertainty. Personally, I know of two people getting baptized on Saturday, in High Rock Lake, to publicly proclaim that their lives have been changed by Jesus. I am so thrilled for them because of a connection through Lake Community Church, and individuals who are willing to share the Gospel with others; even during social distancing. It can be done. (I know you don’t want any attention given to you in any way, but “Thank You” for being faithful to God’s call on your life, and for baptizing these two Saturday. It will be a special time for them, and for you.)
So, the next time the news comes on, or something pops up on the social media page about how bad things are; don’t ignore it all, but distance yourself enough to where it doesn’t drown out what God is telling you; that He is still in control, and that He can use this season of uncertainty to do incredible things through those who are called…according to His purpose.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support The Lake financially with your tithes and offerings through our online giving tab. If you have never really tried to give online, then during this season of social-distancing-church-attendance, why not give it a try. You can Give Online at mylake.church. You can do a one-time gift, or setup a recurring draft from your bank account. Your first step is to click on the blue circle in the lower right corner of our website, and follow the instructions. (Just like the one pictured above) It’s quick and it’s simple. You’ll receive a confirmation email for all transactions. You can also still make your contribution, tithe, or offering by texting your gift to 84321 on your smartphone; enter an amount; choose Lake Community Church, and you’re on your way. Follow any of those directions and continue to support Lake Community Church through this season. And, you can still mail your tithe, or offering to Lake Community Church, 7800 Bringle Ferry Rd. Salisbury, NC 28146. I mean, you can even drop by the church (T-F) if you just need someone to talk to. 🙂
Upcoming events at The Lake:
“There Is A Reason”
This Sunday morning we begin a new teaching series focused on finding out why things are going the way they are; whether your connecting this to the coronavirus pandemic, or some personal struggles and circumstances in your life; “There Is A Reason.” Sounds crazy, but there’s a reason for everything we deal with in life; everything we are faced with in life; every up and down of life; even the painful moments of life. God has a purpose and plan for every experience in our life, and over the next few weeks, I believe He will reveal that to each of us. Join us this Sunday at 10:00am for Lake Live Online. Remember to Share our gathering on your own social media page; inviting your family and friends to join in with our time of worship, or you are more than welcome to create a Watch Party so all your friends can worship along with you.
