The past few weeks seem like almost a blur. It seems like we were all getting ready for Easter; making plans for a big weekend of Easter Gatherings, and now here we are heading into the last week of May. This pandemic has casually altered our plans to where events on the calendar; special events of life have been tossed aside, and replaced with wondering when this will all begin to end and we can begin living our lives again.
It’s usually around this time of year, school is ending and graduations are happening. But, not so much this year. However, we don’t want our graduates from The Lake to go unnoticed, so we have complied a list of High School and College Graduates from The Lake and would not only share this list with you, but would encourage you to prayer for each of these graduates as they begin a new chapter in their life; whether that is to head off to college or to start a career.
These are our Lake Community Church Graduates for 2020!
Baily Carden – East Rowan High School
Bryce Carden – East Rowan High School
Zach Hedrick – East Rowan High School
Sarah Johnson – East Rowan High School
Mattie Chilson – Jesse Carson High School
Rileah Byrd – UNC School of the Arts
Hannah Kai Wood – Penn Foster High School
Joe Brooks – Wingate University
Please join me in celebrating the accomplishments of all these graduates and cheer them on as they begin a new chapter in their journey of life, that they may make a difference in this world, and that God will use them in ways that glorify Him in their life. We are very proud of all our graduates. “Congratulations Class of 2020!!”
Upcoming events at The Lake:
“There Is A Reason”
Last Sunday morning we learned about how God can use the struggles in our life; the pain we endure, to strengthen us for His purpose in our life. Do we understand what God’s purpose is for us; His original intent for how we were to live our life; how we were to glorify Him with the way we live? This Sunday morning, we answer the question of finding our purpose and why it’s so important to know what God’s purpose is for us. What will us living out God’s purpose look like? “There Is A Reason” for God’s purpose in our life. Join us this Sunday at 10:00am for Lake Live Online. Remember to Share our gathering on your own social media page; inviting your family and friends to join in with our time of worship, or you are more than welcome to create a Watch Party so all your friends can worship along with you.
Congratulations to Jim Erik!! Jim’s name was randomly drawn as the winner of “BOTH” Lake Students M-Fuge Prize Packs; the YETI Pack and the Apple Mac Pack. Thank you to everyone who helped our Lake Students goal of financially taking care of their M-Fuge experience. Even their trip was cancelled this year due to the coronavirus, they are already gearing up to make it to M-Fuge 2021. All funds that were raised will be applied to 2021.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support The Lake financially with your tithes and offerings through our online giving tab. If you have never really tried to give online, I encourage you to give it a try. You can Give Online at mylake.church. Your first step is to click on the blue circle (Like the one pictured above) in the lower right corner of our website, and follow the instructions. It’s quick and it’s simple. You can do a one-time gift or donation, or you can setup a recurring gift drafted from your own bank account. With each online contribution, you’ll receive a confirmation email. You can also still make your contribution, tithe, or offering by texting your gift to 84321 on your smartphone; enter an amount; choose Lake Community Church, and you’re on your way. Follow any of those directions and continue to support Lake Community Church through this season. And, you can still mail your tithe, or offering to Lake Community Church, 7800 Bringle Ferry Rd. Salisbury, NC 28146. I mean, you can even drop by the church (T-F) if you just need someone to talk to. 🙂
See you this Sunday at The Lake Online!
