Hey Ronnie!? When is the church going to re-open?
That really depends on which Ronnie you ask. If you ask the one who so wants to have everybody back in the building worshipping together like before; no worries; no fears; no hesitations and no restrictions…I’m ready now! I’m blindly ready because I am a selfish person. I want to see all of you coming across the parking lot; laughing, talking, waving to one another. I want to greet everyone of you as you make your way in through the doors, shake you hand, speak to you in your seat. I want to hear you singing at the top of your lungs in worship with the Worship Team. I want to see you welcome others sitting around you. I want to hear you singing at the top of your lungs with the Worship Team; praising God with all that’s within you. I want to pray over you, hear you as you join in praying; teach from God’s Word and grow with you as a body of believers. That’s what I want. And, even though that may not sound selfish, it is if I don’t consider “everyone.”
You see, not everyone feels confident and safe these days. Not everyone is ready to venture out into public just yet. Not everyone is as ready as everyone else. And, as Pastor Ronnie, “everyone” matters. Everyone needs to feel safe and protected when they come to worship with others. Everyone needs to feel free to worship without any hesitation or restriction. Everyone needs to know their children will be safe and protected in Lake Kids, that their students are taken care of Wednesday evenings at Lake Students; that everything is cleaned and sanitized thoroughly. Are we there yet? Not quite.
But, and this is important…the Staff and the Leadership Team of Lake Community Church are discussing, and have been discussing and looking at how we can make “everyone” feel safe and protected when we do open the doors for Worship at The Lake. Please understand, there will be Training Sessions for all our Volunteers on how to clean and disinfect our entire facility before we open the doors; a through cleaning of the entire facility the day before we open the doors, and on the Sunday morning we do open the doors, there will be limited seating in the Auditorium, and the facility will be cleaned before, between, and after the Worship Gatherings. Social distancing will be addressed and adhered to. We will do all we physically can do to make “everyone” feel safe and protected when worshipping at The Lake.
What I am asking “everyone” to do is to please be praying for us as we begin to put these plans into place, and please be patient with us. We’re all new to this, but it will get better. We will be back together. The church is, and always has been essential; not just for us, but for our community and beyond.
Upcoming events at The Lake:
“There Is A Reason”
This Sunday at 10:00am we finish off our teaching series, “There Is A Reason.” Yes, there is a reason for everything that happens in our life; all the struggles, the ups and downs; even the pain we experience at times is for our benefit. What we have learned over the past few weeks is that God has a purpose for our life, and sometimes He will use the struggles in our life to better prepare us for His purpose in us; to accomplish His “original intent” for our life. Last week we learned that God’s purpose for our life is to serve Him, and we can best refine and develop our purpose when we serve others. But, what happens, or what is it that can cause us to stray from our God given purpose in life? What is it that can take something we know God has purposed for us to do, but make it so difficult to accomplish? Join us this Sunday morning for Lake Live Online at 10:00am as we all discover the answer to those questions. Remember to Share our gathering on your own social media page; inviting your family and friends to join in with our time of worship, or you are more than welcome to create a Watch Party so all your friends can worship along with you.
Lake Students is still offering gatherings during the week with Devotionals with Eric, Q&A events, and regular Wednesday evening gatherings via ZOOM for all Middle School and High School Students.
