We are getting a little closer to Re-opening The Lake for In-person Worship Gatherings. Last Saturday, The Lake hosted Training Sessions for our Lake Kids and Guest Services Volunteers to help prepare them for their new expectations and responsibilities each Sunday to ensure that all our guests on Sundays feel welcome and safe while they attend The Lake. A second day of Training Sessions is set for tomorrow morning, Saturday, June 13th at 10:00am for all Volunteers who were unable to attend last Saturday’s Sessions. As you can see, we are doing all we can to try and make sure The Lake can begin our Re-opening plan next week, June 21st.
Will we be perfect in our efforts? Probably not, but will we do our very best? Absolutely! Our Volunteers have served The Lake before this pandemic, and are getting prepared to go above and beyond to make our Re-opening as safe and successful as we can. I will be sharing a few more emails in the next couple of days to help you, our Lake Family know what to expect when you return to The Lake for a Worship Gathering. Yes, it will be a little different, but I believe God will bless the efforts of everyone in involved in our Re-opening; even our guests.
One ministry of Lake Community Church that is preparing extensively for our Re-opening is our Lake Kids Ministry, and I would like to share with everyone a brief video from Amanda Stone, our Lake Kids Director. Please click on Lake Kids
We’re getting closer.
Upcoming events at The Lake:
Last Sunday was an interesting start to our new teaching series, “Recalculating.” We began in James 4, looking at how many people will plan out their lives without any consideration to what God’s will may be for their life. Our challenge in life, as a follower of Jesus; a child of God, is to do all we can to know, understand, and put into practice God’s will in our life. It’s not always easy. We are faced with many obstacles in life that try to throw us off course; make us lose focus on what God may be wanting us to do. The question for this week’s “Recalculating” is: What do we do when we feel like we are trying to live out God’s will in our life, but we end up facing an obstacle, a roadblock in our journey? And, what if the roadblock has been set up by God? What are we suppose to do now? Join us this Sunday morning at 10:00am, for week 2 of “Recalculating” on Lake Live Online and some answers to these questions.
Lake Students is still offering gatherings during the week with Devotionals with Eric, Q&A events, and regular Wednesday evening gatherings via ZOOM for all Middle School and High School Students. Find out all about their weekly schedule of meetings on their website, thelakestudents.com, or contact Eric Doane at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our Lake Kids Director, Amanda Stone, has been sharing all of our Lake Kids lessons and activities each week on our mylake.church website. Simply click on the Tab, Lake Church Online; choose Lake Kids, and select your child’s age group; Pre-K or K-5 and you have access to all the games, stories, and videos any day during the week. Keep checking back for updates to the site each week. (Parents, be sure to use the Bible App for Kids to follow along with your child’s lessons.)
** This year our Lake Kids Bible Camp, “ANCHORED” is scheduled for Friday evening, July 24th and Saturday afternoon, July 25th. Go ahead and mark this on your calendar. We’ll be sharing more details soon.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support The Lake financially with your tithes and offerings through our online giving tab. If you have never really tried to give online, I encourage you to give it a try. You can Give Online at mylake.church. Your first step is to click on the blue circle (Like the one pictured above) in the lower right corner of our website, and follow the instructions. It’s quick and it’s simple. You can do a one-time gift or donation, or you can setup a recurring gift drafted from your own bank account. With each online contribution, you’ll receive a confirmation email. You can also still make your contribution, tithe, or offering by texting your gift to 84321 on your smartphone; enter an amount; choose Lake Community Church, and you’re on your way. Follow any of those directions and continue to support Lake Community Church through this season. And, you can still mail your tithe, or offering to Lake Community Church, 7800 Bringle Ferry Rd. Salisbury, NC 28146. I mean, you can even drop by the church (T-F) if you just need someone to talk to. 🙂
See you this Sunday at The Lake Online!
