Let me first apologize for not getting this Lake Advisory out sooner today. It’s been one of those days…whatever day it is. All I now is that the teaching series we just finished up this past Sunday, “There Is A Reason” has given me the influence to share with you… “There Is A Plan”; a plan in motion to Re-open Lake Community Church for In-person Worship Gatherings!
Yes, you read that right. The Staff and Leadership Team have been discussing and making plans to Re-open The Lake. But, I need everyone to know that we will approach this Re-opening with a determination to do all we can to make sure everyone feels safe and protected when you do attend a Worship Gathering. How will we do that? Like this…
Tomorrow morning, Saturday morning, June 6th at 10:00am, The Lake is hosting a Training Session. This Training Session is for all Lake Kids Volunteers and all Guest Services Volunteers. These sessions are designed to prepare our Volunteers for when our doors re-open and we begin to welcome you back into our facility. For those Volunteers who may not be able to attend the Training Sessions tomorrow, there will be a repeat Training next Saturday, June 13th at 10:00am to make sure we do our best to train all our Volunteers with the new expectations and responsibilities as we prepare to Re-open.
But when do we Re-open?
Sunday, June 21st, Lake Community Church is scheduled to Re-open with two Limited Seating Worship Gatherings; 9:30 and 11:00am. Limited seating because of the “social distancing” mandate. Groups of seats (2-3-4 seats together) will be spaced 6 feet apart in each row, and each row will be 6 feet apart. The front row of grouped seats is actually 12 feet from the stage. Now, I understand that not everyone will attend the first Sunday The Lake is Re-opened, but I wanted to make sure everyone knows seating will be limited; 75-80 seats per service.
On another note, the plans are for the 9:30 Worship Gathering to offer Lake Kids for every child 3 and under. Older children will receive a Kids Pak to take into the Auditorium with their parents. This Kids Pak will contain resources for your child to be able to complete some lessons based on their age-group, Scriptures to memorize, and some activities to do. There will be No Lake Kids offered at the 11:00am Worship Gathering at this time, but the same Kids Pak for 4 and up will be available as you enter the Auditorium.
I know this is a lot of information to take in at one time, but I wanted to make sure we get this information out as soon as possible. More details will be shared as we draw closer to our Re-open, but until then…I want to ask everyone to be in prayer for the Volunteers as they prepare for our Re-opening. If you feel like you’d like to be a part of this Training and serve as a Volunteer in either Lake Kids or Guest Services, you are more than welcome to attend either of the Sessions on either Saturday morning; June 6th or 13th.
We’re getting closer.
Upcoming events at The Lake:
Have you ever had plans to change at the last moment; spend weeks or months putting together a fail-proof plan to reach a specific goal; only to have it changed at a moments notice. We’ve all probably experienced this in one way or another; the “Recalculating” of what we wanted to do because of an unexpected change. This Sunday morning at 10:00am, we begin our new teaching series, “Recalculating” on Lake Live Online. I pray you will be able to join us this Sunday morning, and why not invite your friends, local and social, to join you in worshipping with The Lake. I’ve heard that Watch Parties are gaining a lot of momentum lately. (That could be one way to invite your One)
Lake Students is still offering gatherings during the week with Devotionals with Eric, Q&A events, and regular Wednesday evening gatherings via ZOOM for all Middle School and High School Students. Find out all about their weekly schedule of meetings on their website, thelakestudents.com, or contact Eric Doane at email@example.com.
Our Lake Kids Director, Amanda Stone, has been sharing all of our Lake Kids lessons and activities each week on our mylake.church website. Simply click on the Tab, Lake Church Online; choose Lake Kids, and select your child’s age group; Pre-K or K-5 and you have access to all the games, stories, and videos any day during the week. Keep checking back for updates to the site each week. (Parents, be sure to use the Bible App for Kids to follow along with your child’s lessons.)
** One other note: a Lake Kids Bible Camp is being planned. Details to follow. (Here’s a Hint. Begin to clear your calendars for the last weekend of July)
