Lake Advisory 7/26/19

There is so much coming up on the calendar at Lake Community Church over the next few weeks. If I were to take the time to let you know about each of them, then the majority of this introduction to the Lake Advisory would be all about the calendar. So, instead of repeating myself and keeping you from getting to all the information you need about these upcoming events, I’ll just encourage you to read through the list of events listed below and make plans to enjoy these events with the rest of The Lake family.

Have a great rest of your Friday and I pray you have a fun filled weekend. See you all Sunday morning at The Lake; 9:30 and 11:00am.

Upcoming events at The Lake:

“Essential Truths”
Join us this Sunday at 9:30 and 11:00am at The Lake, as we continue to learn more “Essential Truths” believers ought to know. We have discussed the “Essential Truths” about the Bible, God’s Word; Salvation; what happens when a Christian sins; how to handle temptation; and, Baptism. Now, let me ask you this…have you ever questioned the role of the Holy Spirit in your life; how does He work in and through you; how can we know when He is working? This Sunday @ The Lake we learn the “Essential Truth”; what every believer ought to know about the Holy Spirit.

Last week, our Lake Students experienced M-Fuge for the first, and it must have been an incredible experience because plans are already being made to attend next year’s M-Fuge event. That’s right, registration is beginning for M-Fuge 2020. To learn more details about next year’s M-Fuge, go to the Lake Students website: and/or contact Eric Doane soon. And, for all rising 6th and 9th grade students; enrollment into Lake Students begins July 28th…this Sunday!

Our pre-school children are continuing their lessons about “God’s Good News” this Sunday. They will be learning about the important truths of the Bible. Week 3: The Bible is God’s true story…that teaches me about Him! Their Bible verse comes from 2 Timothy 3:16(NIRV) “…it (the Bible) is useful for teaching us what is true…” Since school is about to begin in a few weeks, our elementary aged Lake Kids will be focusing on welcoming those children beginning school and moving up in a grade by learning about the purpose of being in Lake Kids. This Sunday they will learn that, “Together, we live out God’s mission.” Their memory Bible verse this Sunday is Ecclesiastes 4:12 NIV “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” (Parents, you can follow your child’s lessons on the Bible App for Kids.)

This Sunday is the last Sunday you can register your child for “INCREDIBLE ME”; Lake Community Church’s One Day Bible Camp. This camp is open to all children from age 3 to rising 5th Graders. In our “INCREDIBLE ME” Bible Camp, children will learn about how God has made them to be who they are; individual and “INCREDIBLE”. This all takes place on Saturday, August 3rd, beginning at 9:00am and finishing up at 2:00pm. (Lunch will be provided for everyone.) You can also register your child online by clicking HERE. Or, you can contact our Director, Amanda Stone by email at yorkamanda8@gmail. I want to go ahead and thank everyone who has already signed up to help with our Bible Camp this year. If you would an opportunity to help make a difference in the lives of children at our Bible Camp, this Sunday is your last chance to signup at our Resource Center, or contact Amanda Stone. We could really use two more Difference Makers for Bible Camp.

This Sunday evening, July 28th, at 6:00pm, Lake Community Church is presenting the powerful, faith-based film, “BREAKTHROUGH”. This film is based on the the true events in the life of a family as they deal with the struggles of their son’s accident on a frozen lake, and how their faith, and the faith of their community led them through the darkest moments of not knowing. This is a FREE event for everyone, so invite your family and friends to join you for “BREAKTHROUGH”. The Lake has received special permission to show this film. (There will be popcorn!)

We are having a Lake Baptism on Sunday, August 11th at 5:00pm for anyone who has accepted God’s forgiveness and love demonstrated through the death and resurrection, has begun the journey of a new life as a child of God, and is prepared to take the next step in their journey as a believer by following Jesus’ example of being baptized. If this is you…if you are ready to declare publicly to the world that Jesus is your Lord and Savior, then August 11th can be a special day to mark on your calendar and a special day in your life as a follower of Jesus.
