Lake Advisory 8/2/19

Lake Community Church’s One Day Bible Camp, “INCREDIBLE ME” is tomorrow!! This camp is open to all children from age 3 to rising 5th Graders. Between 9:00am and 2:00pm, children will learn about how God has made them to be who they are; individual and “INCREDIBLE”. Along with all the songs, games, crafts, stories, and plain out fun at church, lunch will be provided for all volunteers and children. Many of you have registered at our Resource Center and there is still time to register your child online by clicking HERE. But, if you fail to do so, you can still bring your child to our Bible Camp. The doors are always open and we would love to have your children enjoy this fun-filled Saturday with us at The Lake. Just remember; all the fun begins at 9:00am, Saturday morning, and you really don’t want to be late. You never now what you might miss in just the first 10 minutes of “INCREDIBLE ME”.

I want to go ahead and give a huge shout of thanks to everyone who has signed up to help make a difference in the lives of all the children who will attend “INCREDIBLE ME” Bible Camp. You will make this Bible Camp what these children will remember, and I thank you for that.

Upcoming events at The Lake:

“Essential Truths”
Our journey through discovering the “Essential Truths” believers ought to know continues this Sunday at our 9:30 and 11:00am Worship Gatherings. We have covered so many “Essential Truths” about the Bible, God’s Word; Salvation; what happens when a Christian sins; how to handle temptation; Baptism, and the Holy Spirit…and since we just discussed the Holy Sprit…did you know that He presents you with a gift, a Spiritual Gift, to use in your life. How can we know what that gift is and how we are supposed to use it? We should find out this Sunday @ The Lake.

Summer vacation is coming to a close. Yes; that’s a bit of sad news, but that also means that Lake Students is in full swing on Wednesday evenings. To learn more about what is happening each week, and what’s coming up in the months ahead, go to their website: and/or contact Eric Doane soon.

Our pre-school children are continuing their lessons about “God’s Good News” this Sunday. They will be learning about the important truths of the Bible. Week 4: The Bible is God’s true story…that feeds my hungry heart! Their Bible verse comes from 2 Timothy 3:16(NIRV) “…it (the Bible) is useful for teaching us what is true…” This Sunday, our elementary aged Lake Kids start a brand new study, “Who’s The Church?” This first week will be focused on “The Body of Christ.” Their memory Bible verse this Sunday is 1 Corinthians 12:27 (NIV) “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” (Parents, you can follow your child’s lessons on the Bible App for Kids.)

Lake Community Church offers a Parent-Child Dedication Service for parents to dedicate their lives to raise up their child in a godly atmosphere at home; setting the example by being Christ-like in the way they live their life; and, making God a top priority in their family. These Dedication Services also challenge the extended family and the church body to be willing to support the parents in raising their child in a godly manner.

To all parents interested in taking part in our Parent-Child Dedication Service on Sunday, August 4th, please contact me by Saturday, August 3rd at to be a part of this special time. Parents may choose our 9:30 or 11:00am Worship Gathering to participate in our Parent-Child Dedication Service.

We are having a Lake Baptism on Sunday, August 11th at 5:00pm for anyone who has accepted God’s forgiveness and love demonstrated through the death and resurrection, has begun the journey of a new life as a child of God, and is prepared to take the next step in their journey as a believer by following Jesus’ example of being baptized. If this is you…if you are ready to declare publicly to the world that Jesus is your Lord and Savior, then August 11th can be a special day to mark on your calendar and a special day in your life as a follower of Jesus.
