September 22, 2019 – The Lake @ The Park!
Can you believe this?! Lake Community Church will celebrate 5 years of God’s blessings in our life as a church body. This event will be held at Dan Nicholas Park. More information is coming soon, but the most important thing for you to do at this time is to mark this on your calendar and begin making plans to attend and bring someone with you!
Upcoming events at The Lake:
This Sunday at The Lake, at both the 9:30 and 11:00am Worship Gatherings, we begin a new teaching series, “ALL IN”. What does it take to be “ALL IN” when it comes to our relationship to God; to have nothing standing between us and God as we try to become who He has called us to be; to follow His leading for our life; to fully trust Him in every area of our life; every situation; every relationship? Beginning this Sunday, and for the next 30 days, we will turn all our attention toward being “ALL IN” at Lake Community Church. Make plans. Invite your friends. This is gonna be good.
Wednesday evenings at 8:30pm, Lake Community Church is offering a gathering for college-aged students. A time to gather for coffee and discussions about current issues, Bible topics, and “life in general” talks. If you are finished with High School, attending area colleges, or need a place to meet other students your age for some encouragement and conversation …Wednesday Nights @ The Lake with our College Coffee Night is for you…and your friends.
Every Wednesday evening at The Lake, our Lake Students gather for some fun and Bible Study. Currently, they are learning about many of the parables of Jesus in, “The Moral of The Story”. If you are a Middle School or High School student, you will want to do all you can to be a part Lake Students on Wednesdays at 6:30pm! And, don’t forget about the $100 discount for registering early for M-Fuge 2020! Find out more about Lake Students on their website: thelakestudents.com and/or contact Eric Doane.
Our pre-school children will be taking one last look at their current study, “Everybody’s Welcome” this Sunday. They will be learning that “God welcomes everybody to be a part of His church” and that “the church is God’s family.” Their Bible verse comes from 1 Timothy 3:15(NIRV) “…the family of God is the church…” Our K-5 Lake Kids are starting a new lesson; “The Truth About Me.” They will be discovering the value God sees in them and that they are Well Known by God. Their memory Bible verse this Sunday is Jeremiah 1:5(NLT) “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born, I set you apart…” (Parents, be sure to follow your child’s lessons on the Bible App for Kids.)
RED BOX Mission Project
Our Women on Missions Group is sponsoring a RED BOX Mission Project for Lake Community Church. Through this Project, different items are collected by churches across North Carolina to be delivered to Prison Facilities for Women around Christmas. Items have ranged from shampoos to deodorants; hygiene supplies for ladies. This year’s item is bars of soap. These bars need to be 4-5 oz. and individually wrapped. There is a plastic blue tub in our Lobby to collect any and all bars of soap you would like to contribute to the RED BOX Mission Project. This Project goes through the month of September.
There are so many ways you can become “Difference Makers” at The Lake; so many opportunities. Lake Kids; Lake Students; Guest Services; Worship; Production; Facilities. All of these Ministries are continually welcoming new Team member each week. If you would like to become a “Difference Maker”, I encourage you to contact the church office (980-643-4200), go through our website (thelake.church), or use our new Church Center App to join a Team and begin making a difference in the lives of others.
