This Sunday evening at 5:00pm, Lake Community Church is having a Baptism Gathering @ High Rock Lake. The address is 2475 Poole Rd. Just be looking for a Lake Community Church sign and turn down John Rink Ln.
For everyone I have spoken to about being baptized, and for those who are still making plans to be baptized, you need to bring a towel with you for drying off and a change of clothes. I will be meeting with every candidate wishing to be baptized before we enter the water to discuss a few details about the baptism.
If you are making plans to attend the Lake Baptism to join in celebrating the decisions being made by those being baptized, you may want to arrive a little before 5:00pm to place you chairs in a shady spot (of course, there will be plenty of shade). I am also asking that if you are coming to the Baptism, bring a dessert to share and some tea or soft drinks (Coke, Pepsi) to share. The Lake is providing the food for a cook-out, chips, and all the fixin’s. We are so looking forward to this Lake Baptism; to see what God is doing in the lives of these new believers and His church.
Upcoming events at The Lake:
Our journey through discovering the “Essential Truths” believers ought to know is coming to a close this Sunday at our 9:30 and 11:00am Worship Gatherings. We have covered so many “Essential Truths” about the Bible, God’s Word; Salvation; what happens when a Christian sins; how to handle temptation; Baptism, the Holy Spirit; Spiritual Gifts. Sounds like we’ve pretty much covered it all; all we ought to know. But, there is still one question we haven’t answered. Join us this Sunday @ The Lake to learn how to know God’s Will for your life.
School is back in full swing, and so is Lake Students! Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm! This is a high-energy gathering for Middle and High School students. To learn more about what is happening each week, and what’s coming up in the months ahead, go to their website: thelakestudents.com and/or contact Eric Doane soon.
Our pre-school children are beginning a new lesson entitled, “Everybody’s Welcome” this Sunday. They will be learning that “God welcomes everybody to His family.” Their Bible verse comes from 1 Timothy 3:15(NIRV) “…the family of God is the church…” Our elementary aged Lake Kids are in their 2nd week of, “Who’s The Church?” This first week will be focused on “Brothers and Sisters.” Their memory Bible verse this Sunday is 1 John 4:7 (NIV) “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.” (Parents, be sure to follow your child’s lessons on the Bible App for Kids.)
Thank you to everyone who helped plan The Lake’s Bible Camp, “INCREDIBLE ME”, and make it such a successful event for children age 3 to rising 5th graders. The games, the music, the skits, the Bible stories, the activities, the snacks, and the food…all could not have been made possible without the help of so many volunteers and the support of Lake Community Church’s generosity. Thank you all for what you did to make a difference in the life of a child; even if it was for just one day, it will leave a lasting impression. “THANK YOU!”
There are so many ways you can become “Difference Makers” at The Lake; so many opportunities. Lake Kids; Lake Students; Guest Services; Worship; Production; Facilities. All of these Ministries are continually welcoming new Team member each week. If you would like to become a “Difference Maker”, I encourage you to contact the church office (980-643-4200), go through our website (thelake.church), or use our new Church Center App to join a Team and begin making a difference in the lives of others.
See you this Sunday at The Lake!
