Upcoming events at The Lake:
Week 3 of our current teaching series, “ALL IN”, takes a closer look at what it means to love God with all our mind. How do we do that? And, what does it look like to us? We’ll also discover how we can learn to know the will of God for our life. This all happens at 9:30 and 11:00am Sunday morning at The Lake,
And, this Sunday marks the half-way point in our 30-Day “ALL IN” Challenge; to Read the Bible, Pray, Trust God, Worship, and Attend Church for the month of September. 30 days to focus on loving God with all we are. We’re on our way to being “ALL IN” at The Lake.
Wednesday evenings at 8:30pm, Lake Community Church is offering a gathering for college-aged students. A time to gather for coffee and discussions about current issues, Bible topics, and “life in general” talks. If you are finished with High School, attending area colleges, or need a place to meet other students your age for some encouragement and conversation …Wednesday Nights @ The Lake with our College Coffee Night is for you…and your friends.
Every Wednesday evening at The Lake, our Lake Students gather for some fun and Bible Study. Currently, they are learning about many of the parables of Jesus in, “The Moral of The Story”. If you are a Middle School or High School student, you will want to do all you can to be a part Lake Students on Wednesdays at 6:30pm! And, don’t forget about the $100 discount for registering early for M-Fuge 2020! Find out more about Lake Students on their website: thelakestudents.com and/or contact Eric Doane. (And, don’t forget to check out the new Lake Student socks)
Our pre-school children will continue with their new lesson study, “In The Beginning”. In week 2, they will be learning about the Creation of the World, and how amazing it is to give thanks to God. Their Bible verse comes from Psalm 139:14(NIRV) “How you made me is amazing and wonderful.” Our K-5 Lake Kids are continuing their lesson; “The Truth About Me.” This Sunday they will be discovering the value God sees in them and learn that I Am Chosen. Their memory Bible verse this Sunday is Ephesians 1:4(NLT) “Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.” (Parents, you can follow along with your child’s lessons on the Bible App for Kids.)
RED BOX Mission Project
Our Women on Missions Group is sponsoring a RED BOX Mission Project for Lake Community Church. Through this Project, different items are collected by churches across North Carolina to be delivered to Prison Facilities for Women around Christmas. Items have ranged from shampoos to deodorants; hygiene supplies for ladies. This year’s item is bars of soap. These bars need to be 4-5 oz. and individually wrapped. There is a plastic blue tub in our Lobby to collect any and all bars of soap you would like to contribute to the RED BOX Mission Project. This Project goes through the month of September.
There are so many ways you can become “Difference Makers” at The Lake; so many opportunities. Lake Kids; Lake Students; Guest Services; Worship; Production; Facilities. All of these Ministries are continually welcoming new Team member each week. If you would like to become a “Difference Maker”, I encourage you to contact the church office (980-643-4200), go through our website (thelake.church), or use our new Church Center App to join a Team and begin making a difference in the lives of others.
