Lake Advisory 9/25/2020

I just have two things I’d like to share with you on this wet Friday in September to start off this Lake Advisory:

Here’s one more simple reminder…our Women on Missions Group is sponsoring the Red Box Outreach Project; a church-wide Mission Project to help impact the lives of women currently in our NC Women’s Correctional Facilities. This Sunday is the LAST Sunday to collect your donated items for this Project. This year’s item: Deodorants; Travel-size; roll-on or solid deodorants; 2.0-3.5 oz. size. The collection tub is located just inside the main entrance double-doors. You may bring your donations and place them in those tubs this Sunday morning between 9:30am and 11:00am. Our Women On Missions Group would like to thank you all in advance for your willingness to be a part of this year’s Red Box Outreach Project.

Pray for America
Tomorrow is going to be a national day of prayer across America; for America. But, specifically in Washington, DC there will be three large gatherings for prayer; humbling ourselves before God as a nation; seeking his face as a nation; repenting as a nation; and turning back to God as a nation founded on His Word.

Jonathan Cahn’s The Return Event begins tonight at 6:00pm(EST) and continues on Saturday morning at 9:00am(EST). There will be a LiveStream for this event at The Return.
Real Ministry’s “Repent America”, with Pastor Greg Locke, will begin at 9:00am and finish at 12:00pm on Saturday.
Franklin Graham’s Prayer March 2020 begins at 12:00pm at the Lincoln Memorial and finishes at 2:00pm in front of the U.S. Capital. Karen and I will be participating in this Prayer March on Saturday and I encourage you to join us in prayer for America this Saturday. You are welcome to watch any and all of these events, hopefully with the links I have attached.

Looking forward to worshipping with you this Sunday at The Lake and Live Online at

As a reminder for this Sunday at The Lake:

The “LOBBY” is still the area outside the building between parking and front doors for the time being.
Use only Middle Double-Doors to enter and exit the building.
Masks are required at 9:30am; not just for entering and finding a seat, but required to be worn for the entire Worship Gathering. And, if I may, please wear your mask so that it covers your nose and mouth. Disposable masks are available.

Masks are recommended at 11:00am. Disposable masks will be available before entering Auditorium for 9:30 and 11:00am Worship Gatherings.
Doors will open at 9:15am for 9:30 Worship Gathering and 10:50am for our 11:00am Worship Gathering.

Lake Cafe` remains closed. (You may bring your own coffee and water)
Restrooms will be open but we request only 2 people in there at a time.

Seating in Auditorium is still “LIMITED” (75 seats in the Auditorium for each Worship Gathering; 50% capacity), so please allow Guest Services Volunteers to help find adequate seating for you and your family, and be prepared to maybe offer a seat next to you to a family that may need an extra seat for the service. (Please help us with our seating by choosing seats toward the front of the Auditorium as you come in, so we can help any who arrive later to not have to be guided through seats to the front, possibly interrupting your worship.)

No Connection Cards will be handed out. All notes, prayer requests, and 1st Time Connections and Prayer Requests can be shared at “I’m New” on
Everyone can use “Message Notes” on, to follow along with the Scripture passages and take notes as well.

No Offering Baskets will be used to collect offerings. You may place your tithe or offering in baskets as you leave Auditorium, or Give Online at
No pens in seat pouches. (BYOP – Bring your own pen)

As you leave the Worship Gathering, please try to observe and respect “social distancing”.

And remember, if you have any reservations at all about being in a crowd of people; even if it is for a church service; or, if you have been around anyone with Covid-19 in the past two weeks; or, have shortness of breath or coughing; have a fever over 100; loss of sense of taste; or, would just rather wait a little longer before returning to The Lake, then please join us online this Sunday at 9:30 or 11:00am at Lake Live Online.

Upcoming events at The Lake:

“Psalm 23”
Week 3 of “Psalm 23” continues our journey through one of the most familiar Psalms in the Bible, and probably one of the most memorized. This week we focus on the center of the Psalm; the valleys we all have experienced in some way in our life. And, like we’ve been learning over the past few weeks, what all is David telling us in this portion of the Psalm? I do hope you can join us this Sunday at 9:30 or 11:00am, In-person or Online at Lake Live Online.

Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm, Lake Students continue to meet at The LakeIn-Person, and via ZOOM for those who can’t make it and still want to be included the Middle School-High School Boys and Girls Break-Out Sessions. Masks are required as we follow the Rowan Salisbury School District guidelines. The ZOOM sessions will begin at 7:00pm. Each Wednesday, our Students are learning about some “Wild Stories” in the Bible; surviving a fiery furnace; a talking donkey; stories you may have never read in the Bible, or never knew were in the Bible. To find out more about Lake Students, visit, or contact Eric Doane by email at

Again this Sunday, September 27th
, Lake Kids will be offered at the 9:30 and 11:00am Worship Gathering! Our 9:30am Lake Kids Ministry is open to all children; Nursery to 5th Grade. Our 11:00am Lake Kids Ministry will be open to Pre-K to 5th Grade. (No Nursery provided just yet at 11:00am)

Be sure to visit our Lake Kids tab at for all the details about checking your children into Lake Kids for Sunday, and other information about Lake Kids. Our Lake Kids Director, Amanda Stone, will continue to share all the lessons and projects online for Lake Kids each week on our website. And, our age appropriate Lake Kids Pack will still be available for your child if you choose to have them sit with you in our Auditorium. There is also an added resource on your phone for your children in the Bible App for Kids.

If you would like to be a part of making a difference in a child’s life, please contact Amanda Stone at soon as you can. Her email is, or

I want to thank all of you who have signed up for RightNow Media and created your won account; giving you access to thousands of videos and Bible Studies for you and your family and friends to use. One of the main reasons The Lake has partnered with RightNow Media, is to make every effort we can to help connect you with God…and in the process, offer yet another way to connect with other believers. We provide this each week through our Worship Gatherings, Lake Kids, Lake Students, and Connection Groups. RightNow Media gives us, and you, another connection point. In October, The Lake will be launching another semester of Connection Groups and our prayer is for RightNow Media to be a resource, for not only existing Groups, but quite possibly “the resource” for the launch of new Groups. Ex: You may come across a video study that you would like to share with some friends from The Lake, or even with some friends in your neighborhood; close friends you spend time with. Why not take the initiative to lead a Group using RightNow Media?

You see, this is more than just a website to visit from time to time; this is a tool for discipling followers of Jesus, sharing the hope this world so desperately needs, and strengthening us as we journey through this life. I encourage you to look through all the available resources on RightNow Media, consider what peaks your interest; what topic catches your attention, check it out and then decide if you think there are others who could benefit from the same teaching; invite them over one evening or afternoon; “connect”. How many potential Connection Groups could there be at The Lake this fall?

Just to let you know; an invite to RightNow Media was sent out today. Check your Inbox, or your Junk mail to find it, but don’t delete it. Follow through with the invite and just see what’s there for you, or your family. RightNow Media is a free resource from Lake Community Church to you.

Movie Night @ The Lake October 4th

Lake Community Church has been given the opportunity to show the film, “SMALL GROUP The Movie” at The Lake on Sunday, October 4th. Actually, there will be two showings; 4:00pm and 6:30pm. The 4:00 showing will be “Masks Required”, but we will be following Restaurant Standards (Wear your mask to your seat. If you need to leave the Auditorium, please wear your mask) The 6:30 showing will be “Masks Optional”. You are also welcome to bring your own snacks. Popcorn will be available.
