Lake Advisory 9/27/19

This past Sunday was such a special time to be at The Lake; even though The Lake was meeting at Dan Nicholas Park, the turnout was great and the music, the food, the fellowship just made the whole event a full-on blessing to be a part of. Thank you to everyone who helped organize and put this whole celebration together and thank you to everyone who came and joined in the festivities.

This is the last weekend of September and the final chapter of “ALL IN”. I hope you have enjoyed this journey we have been on as a church body, and are prepared to face the rest of 2019 with the tools you have practicing using throughout the month of September to become “ALL IN”.

There are quite a few events coming to The Lake over the next several weeks, and all that information is listed below. If you come across something you need to place on your calendar, I’d go ahead and do that before the calendar gets too filled.

Upcoming events at The Lake:

“ALL IN”
This Sunday at our 9:30 and 11:00am Worship Gatherings, we will be taking a closer look at the final command from Jesus to be “ALL IN” with our relationship with God; loving God with all our strength. This is it! The last days of the 30-Day Challenge. My prayer is that we finish strong and use this teaching series to prepare us for the remainder of this year and into the next years.

LAKE STUDENTS
Every Wednesday evening at The Lake, our Lake Students gather for some fun and Bible Study. Currently, they are learning about many of the parables of Jesus in, “The Moral of The Story”. If you are a Middle School or High School student, you will want to do all you can to be a part Lake Students on Wednesdays at 6:30pm! And, don’t forget about the $100 discount for registering early for M-Fuge 2020! Time is running out. Find out more about Lake Students on their website: thelakestudents.com and/or contact Eric Doane.

LAKE KIDS
Our pre-school children will continue with their new lesson study, “In The Beginning”. In week 4, they will be learning about the Creation of the World, and how amazing it is to follow Jesus and be God’s friend. Their Bible verse comes from Psalm 139:14(NIRV) “How you made me is amazing and wonderful.” Our K-5 Lake Kids are continuing their lesson; “The Truth About Me.” This Sunday they will be discovering the value God sees in them and learn that they are a Masterpiece. Their memory Bible verse this Sunday is Ephesians 2:10(NLT) “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” (Parents, you can follow along with your child’s lessons on the Bible App for Kids.)

RED BOX Mission Project
If you forgot your bars of soap last Sunday because of all the excitement of our 5 Year Anniversary Celebration, you can still drop off your donations of 4-5 oz. and individually wrapped bars of soap in our Lobby. Our Women On Missions Group will collect them the following week, so you can still make a difference in the life of a young lady through their RED BOX Mission Project.

There are so many ways you can become “Difference Makers” at The Lake; so many opportunities. Lake Kids; Lake Students; Guest Services; Worship; Production; Facilities. All of these Ministries are continually welcoming new Team members each week. If you would like to become a “Difference Maker”, I encourage you to contact the church office (980-643-4200), go through our website (thelake.church), or use our new Church Center App to join a Team and begin making a difference in the lives of others.
