September 8th – Backstage Pass
This Sunday, September 8th, right after our 11:00am Worship Gathering, we will assemble in the large Lake Kids area for Lake Community Church’s Backstage Pass Luncheon. This will be a chance for new attenders of The Lake to share a meal together, have a little Q&A about The Lake, meet the Staff, some Ministry Leaders and Leadership Team members, and learn some of our history; why we do what we do, what our Mission as a church is; what our Vision and Values are; and, how you can become a Partner with The Lake. Did I mention lunch will be provided?

You will need to register for this Backstage Pass Luncheon by emailing before 5:00pm, Friday, September 6th (today).

Upcoming events at The Lake:

This Sunday at The Lake, we continue our teaching series, “ALL IN”. Last week we were challenged to love God with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind. We were also presented a 30-Day Challenge to become “ALL IN” through Bible reading, Devotions, Prayer, Trusting God with everything, and in every area of our life; and, Church Attendance. 30 days to focus on loving God with all we are. But, what does it look like to love God with all our heart; to fully commit our heart to seeking God; to be totally sold-out to Him with our life? We attempt to find the answers at both the 9:30 and 11:00am Worship Gatherings this Sunday. We’re on our way to being “ALL IN” at The Lake.

Wednesday evenings at 8:30pm, Lake Community Church is offering a gathering for college-aged students. A time to gather for coffee and discussions about current issues, Bible topics, and “life in general” talks. If you are finished with High School, attending area colleges, or need a place to meet other students your age for some encouragement and conversation …Wednesday Nights @ The Lake with our College Coffee Night is for you…and your friends.

Every Wednesday evening at The Lake, our Lake Students gather for some fun and Bible Study. Currently, they are learning about many of the parables of Jesus in, “The Moral of The Story”. If you are a Middle School or High School student, you will want to do all you can to be a part Lake Students on Wednesdays at 6:30pm! And, don’t forget about the $100 discount for registering early for M-Fuge 2020! Find out more about Lake Students on their website: and/or contact Eric Doane.

Our pre-school children will begin a new lesson study entitled, “In The Beginning”. In week 1, they will be learning about the Creation of the World, and how amazing it is to be made by God. Their Bible verse comes from Psalm 139:14(NIRV) “How you made me is amazing and wonderful.” Our K-5 Lake Kids are continuing their lesson; “The Truth About Me.” They will be discovering the value God sees in them and that they are Loved by God. Their memory Bible verse this Sunday is Romans 5:8(NIRV) “But here is how God has shown his love for us. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Parents, you can follow along with your child’s lessons on the Bible App for Kids.)

RED BOX Mission Project
Our Women on Missions Group is sponsoring a RED BOX Mission Project for Lake Community Church. Through this Project, different items are collected by churches across North Carolina to be delivered to Prison Facilities for Women around Christmas. Items have ranged from shampoos to deodorants; hygiene supplies for ladies. This year’s item is bars of soap. These bars need to be 4-5 oz. and individually wrapped. There is a plastic blue tub in our Lobby to collect any and all bars of soap you would like to contribute to the RED BOX Mission Project. This Project goes through the month of September.

There are so many ways you can become “Difference Makers” at The Lake; so many opportunities. Lake Kids; Lake Students; Guest Services; Worship; Production; Facilities. All of these Ministries are continually welcoming new Team member each week. If you would like to become a “Difference Maker”, I encourage you to contact the church office (980-643-4200), go through our website (, or use our new Church Center App to join a Team and begin making a difference in the lives of others.
