I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.
This Psalm was part of my reading this morning and it was such a reminder of God’s presence in my life; not only this morning, but everyday. And, it was a reminder of God’s presence in the life of The Lake. As I read the first part of the passage, “I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart“, I am taken back to a decision made years ago; a decision to surrender my life to Jesus; to give my “whole heart” to Him. The “thanks” I give is a response to the love He gave.
This Psalm also helps me recall all the “wonderful deeds” I have experienced with Jesus as my Savior, and how He has blessed my life in the past. If I were to write down all these “wonderful deeds”; honestly take the time to remember and record all I have seen God do in and through my life…I would be a total mess. God has been so good and amazing in my life. I don’t have the words to say that would even come close to thanking Him in an adequate way. So, I will do as the Psalmist says; “I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.”
When I recall…look back…remember who God is, and what He has done for me and through me, I am blessed and I respond with praise. Today may not have begun as a day of praising, but it has become one. I pray your day will be the same.
